Navigating the expansive universe of Starfield requires players to solve intriguing puzzles scattered across distant star systems. One of the key objectives during the main story quest titled Unity involves tracking down an ancient puzzle known as the Scorpion's Sting. Locating this puzzle and understanding how to manipulate its beam mechanism is essential for advancing your Starborn investigation.
Reaching Hyla II and the Ancient Ruins
To begin this stage of the quest, set your starship course for the Hyla system and travel to the planet Hyla II. Upon entering orbit, scan the surface to locate the Ancient Ruins landing zone. After landing your vessel, proceed on foot toward the marker while keeping an eye out for local alien wildlife.
Although the indigenous creatures roaming the area look intimidating, they remain passive unless provoked. Following the designated pathway leads directly to a massive stone sculpture and a unique light projection on the ground. This site serves as the central location for completing the puzzle objective.
Solving the Scorpion Light Beam Puzzle
At the center of the ruins, you will encounter a floating alien control pedestal with four directional glyph buttons. Interacting with these glyphs moves a beam of light projected onto the Scorpius constellation etched into the floor. The controls function similarly to a D-pad, allowing you to move the light up, down, left, and right.
To solve the puzzle, maneuver the beam toward the far left section of the etched constellation. You must align the light source precisely onto the tip of the scorpion's tail, which represents the stinger. Switching to a first-person perspective can help you aim the beam with greater accuracy.
Advancing to the Next Story Objective
Once the light beam hits the correct point on the constellation, a glowing orb forms to confirm your success. Your quest log will instantly update, directing you to travel to the final star of the Scorpius constellation. Completing this objective brings you one step closer to uncovering the deeper secrets of the main campaign.
